Our Planet

Somerset Larder are committed to leading the way in the catering industry in lessening its impact on the planet and ensuring that the planet is left in a better way for our next generation.

We integrate sustainability considerations in our business making decisions; whether that be the locality of the suppliers we use or the packaging we choose, at the heart of these decisions is our planet.

“South West Larder has been established as a business model with the environment at the forefront of all we do. From a drive for local suppliers, local employees & environment initiatives we are at the cutting edge of the possible” Steve Braithwaite, MD.

Somerset Larder at HPC have remained consistent in our locally sourced ethos:

We remain committed to reducing food waste across the HPC site.  Industry food standards aim to hit food waste targets of no more than 5%,  here at Somerset Larder we maintain no more than 3% across all units and departments.

Some of the leading techniques are used at Somerset Larder to reduce carbon with fantastic results, we remain committed to these techniques as well as searching for new initiatives that leave our planet in a better place for future generations.
